Slow moving alligator paces outside Florida Walmart

Posted: Updated:
APOPKA, FL - When you go to Walmart, you're usually looking for all kinds of things, but never this.

A slow-moving alligator kept Walmart shoppers in Apopka, Florida from going in and coming out of the store Sunday.

You can see it pacing the store entrance and witnesses say it did it for several hours.

"Someone inside said there's a gator at the door.  So, of course, curious people, we came out and it was right against the door.  I mean you could see it,” said Robin Watkins, Walmart shopper. “It was probably 5 almost 6 foot long.  It was a nice size gator just chillin!"

The gator set off the automatic doors, but apparently was not interested in the great deals inside.

Workers eventually locked the doors just to make sure.

And the gator eventually strolled away, going back to a nearby body of water from which he came.
