A house fire in Spartanburg is under investigation.

Officials say they were called to the home on W. Wood Street around 4 p.m. Wednesday where a fire had started in a walk-in basement.

Investigators say it spread to the first floor, then the attic.

The house sustained significant damage, according to authorities.

One firefighter was treated at the scene for a minor injury.

No one was home at the time of the fire. Authorities tell 7 On Your Side that the resident had just moved in and was at the hospital visiting a relative.

The American Red Cross was notified. The investigation continues.
