BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC -

A mother and daughter were killed after a wreck in Black Mountain.

Trooper Brandon Miller of the North Carolina State Patrol said that 28-year-old Andrea Hollified Frost, of Marion, and her mother, 51-year-old Kathy Hollified Norton, were killed after their car was clipped by another vehicle as they were attempting to make an illegal pass on Highway 9, just south of the town. A third person in the car, Jesikah Ryan Norton, 18, was transported to a nearby hospital, but was not seriously injured.

According to Miller, Frost was driving a car and attempted to make an illegal pass. A car in front of her attempted to make a left turn and clipped Frost's vehicle, causing it to crash into some trees. The driver of the second car was transported to a nearby hospital, but was not seriously injured.

No charges were filed in the wreck, Miller said.
