One person was injured in a two car collision in Pelzer late Thursday afternoon.

The wreck happened on Smith Street at Goodrich Street around 4:30 pm. Troopers said that the driver of a Pontiac Grand Am failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a Honda Accord.

The Accord went off the road and struck a parked pickup truck and then a home. A four-year-old child, who was playing in the yard next to the truck, was almost hit by the truck, but managed to get out of the way without being injured. The porch of the home was knocked about a foot off of its foundation.

An adult and two children inside the home were not injured, but one of the children was shaken by the mishap. The driver of the Accord was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The unidentified female driver of the Grand Am and a passenger in the car was not injured.
