2 Dead After Being Hit By Falling Trees In Unrelated Anderson Co. Instances

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -

Two people are dead after a tree fell on each of them in separate instances in Anderson County Monday.

Officials with the coroner’s office say they were called to the different locations on Darlene Drive in Belton and Broadway School Road in Anderson around 2 p.m.

The calls came in around 20 minutes apart. The two scenes were about 3 miles away from each other.

The coroner’s office later identified the victims as Robert Morgan, 35, of Six Mile and Sandris Gilbert, Jr., 45, of Starr. Both were logging at the time.

Both deaths have been ruled accidental.
