Greenwood Police investigators are looking into the possibility of filing charges against three people who perpetrated a kidnapping hoax Tuesday.

Captain Nick Futch of the Greenwood Police Department stated that officers responded to the McDonald's at 1204 S. Main Street after receiving a report of a kidnapping. Several hours after the incident was reported, Futch said that officers located a vehicle that was used in the incident parked near a residence on Stanley Avenue.

Futch said that officers located three people and questioned them about the incident. The three individuals admitted to the hoax. Officers then spoke with the individual who was believed to be a victim in the case and admitted to participating in the hoax.

None of the people involved in the prank were injured and none were employees of McDonald's.
