Woodruff, S.C. -

Roads were opened and a school lockdown was lifted Friday afternoon following a gas leak at a Spartanburg County restaurant.

Police in Woodruff say the leak happened at the Pizza Hut on Cross Anchor Road. The leak has been contained.

As a result of the leak, Woodruff Elementary School was put on a “Shelter In Place” procedure for approximately an hour. Parents were later notified that the school lockdown was lifted.

Nearby roads were also closed, but have since reopened.

Authorities tell 7 On Your Side that a contractor performing work at the restaurant hit the gas line.
