TRAVELERS REST, S.C. - Just after 7 a.m. on Sunday, emergency crews in Travelers Rest responded to a house fire near Old Buncombe and Roe Road.  

Effects of the fire has displaced two families living in the duplex according to Red Cross officials. 

A spokesperson with the Red Cross, says that both families; consisting of five adults and a child, will receive emergency lodging for up to three days provided by the organization until further details can be established.

Travelers Rest Police Captain, John Gardner, informed 7 On Your Side that nobody was hurt in the incident and that it is still under investigation.

Red Cross preliminarily removed the families from the home due to smoke and fire damage as well as health concerns.

According to Gardner, an arson team is currently involved with investigating the exact cause of the fire, however, one has not yet been determined.
