Laurens Co. Man Shot in the Rear, 2 Arrested

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. -

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office has arrested two people in connection to a shooting.

Deputies say it happened Sunday at 11939 Highway 72 West in Cross Hill. They arrived on scene to find a man had been shot in the buttocks. He was transported to the hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

Deputies have since arrested Bruce Alan Smith, 48, of Cross Hill for numerous charges, including attempted murder, kidnapping, pointing and presenting a firearm, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and malicious damage to personal property.

Officials also arrested Brandy Holbert Dyeton, 34, of Mountville in connection to this case. She is charged with possession of Methamphetamine.

Both were booked at the Johnson Detention Center, where they are still awaiting a bond hearing.
