SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Landrum's Jacob Gibson didn't let a career-ending neck injury prevent him from doing some good for someone else.

Gibson was recently awarded the game ball by Chesnee following the Eagles win over Landrum.

Gibson had previously suffered a neck injury that ended his football days but his recovery is expected to allow him to lead a normal life, otherwise.

Gibson was aware of an 11-year-old in the Spartanburg area named Germarcus Robbs, who has battled an illness and had surgery scheduled.

Seeing an opportunity to pick-up Germarcus' spirits prior to his surgery, Gibson, some of his Landrum teammates, and some of the Chesnee players presented Germarcus with that very game ball at his school last week.
