Rides listed for sale from former Hard Rock Park in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -

The twice-failed amusement park in Myrtle Beach is now trying to sell off many of the rides from the venture.

The site west of the Intracoastal Waterway near US 501 was known originally as Hard Rock Park and later as Freestyle Music Park, before finally going out of business in 2009.

Several of the rides are now listed for sale with a company based in Nashville. At least two of the rides have already been sold, according to an industry website.

Ital International, a broker of amusement rides, has more than a dozen of the Hard Rock Park rides that is it trying to sell for the mortgage company that took over the Myrtle Beach amusement park.

The prices aren't listed, but most listings tout that the rides were "used 2 short seasons," according to the website.

The rides include the well known looping roller coaster, a "swamp thing" ride, a "soak zone," a kids train and the scary "Monster of Rock Sally dark ride."

Rochester, New York's Seabreeze Amusement Park purchased 2 spinning rides from the shuttered Myrtle Beach park, according to News + Notes, an amusement industry blog.

The Wave Swinger -- in which folks hang from swings and spin -- and the Great Ballon Race will join the park for their 2014 season, News + Notes reported last week.
