ABBEVILLE COUNTY, S.C. -

A South Carolina man is accused of murdering his son and then leaving the young man's body wedged in a bridge over the Little River.

The Anderson Independent Mail reported Friday that Tony Vernon Jordan has been charged with murder and possessing a weapon during a violent crime.

Abbeville County Sheriff Ray Watson says the 52-year-old father used a handgun to shoot 25-year-old Jeremy Ray Jordan in the head Monday evening. Watson says the older Jordan may have been trying to throw his son's body over the bridge along Old Calhoun Falls Road in Abbeville when it got wedged between the rails. A driver later noticed the body and called 911.

Tony Jordan is being held in jail without bond. No motive for the killing has been disclosed.
