ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. -

The Anderson Co. Coroner's Office says Wanda Morrell died while setting a vacant house on Mountain View Road on fire. This was not her home.

Morrell died of carbon monoxide toxicity.

The case has been ruled a homicide.  Morrell's husband, Clifford, faces charges in connection with the case.

Originally, investigators say the husband and wife were cleaning the home. Now the Coroner's Office says the pair were at the house, trying to set it on fire.

The husband went out to buy coffee while his wife stayed behind to set the fire.  Investigators say Morrell was caught up in the fire and died.

Clifford Michael Morrell has been charged with conspiracy to commit arson.  He remains at the detention center.
