Assault Suspect Hit By 3 Vehicles On I-85 In Greenville Co.

A man leaving a fight with his girlfriend was hit by three vehicles on Interstate 85 Wednesday evening in Greenville County, according to officials. A man leaving a fight with his girlfriend was hit by three vehicles on Interstate 85 Wednesday evening in Greenville County, according to officials.
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. - A man leaving a fight with his girlfriend was hit by three vehicles on Interstate 85 Wednesday evening in Greenville County, according to officials.

Deputies tell us they were called to the Red Roof Inn on Laurens Road for a domestic violence call.  When they got there, they say they found out that the girlfriend pepper sprayed the man in the face while he was beating her.  They say he also threatened to kill her during the attack.

The man then stumbled through the parking lot and into the Interstate where he was hit by an car, then an 18-wheeler, followed by a truck.

The man was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries.  The woman was also taken to the hospital.

The suspect is being charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.  He may be facing additional charges.

Traffic was backed up for several miles in the area while crews responded.
