Some Spartanburg County students are helping feed families in need this holiday season.

4th Graders at Lyman Elementary School collected more than 6,000 canned goods. On Thursday, they delivered the generous donation to the Greer Soup Kitchen.

The Soup Kitchen is part of the Daily Bread Ministries, which aims to feed the hungry by providing one meal a day to anyone who drops by. It's a non-profit, charitable organization that was founded in 1990. It now serves about 150 meals each day. To learn more about the organization, click here.

    Anderson County Fire, HAZMAT, EMS and Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a powdery substance found in a mailbox in Iva Sunday. 
    According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, a call came in about a person locating a powder in a mailbox on Continent Road.Once crews arrived on scene, it was determined that the substance had no biological threat.
