Human Remains Found On James Dr. In Buncombe Co. Identified

LEICESTER, N.C. -  According to Buncombe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Natalie Bailey, "the remains have been positively identified as Cheyenne Nichole VanTreese, 23, of Asheville.

Bailey stated Friday that investigators discovered human remains in the James Drive area of the Leicester community late Thursday and are still working to establish a cause of death.

23-year-old Cheyenne VanTresse, was reported missing on November 5, about a month after she was last seen according to Bailey.

On Wednesday, Buncombe County authorities arrested Vincent Thomas Wesley Franklin, 25, of James Drive in Leicester, and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of armed robbery. Authorities say that Franklin murdered his parents, Joy Susan Runne, 45, and Andre Graydon Runne, 44, of the home by shooting them. Their bodies were discovered at their home early Wednesday morning. 

Buncombe County authorities have not indicated whether or not the two incidents are connected.

    According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, a call came in about a person locating a powder in a mailbox on Continent Road.Once crews arrived on scene, it was determined that the substance had no biological threat.
