Greenville Police say a man was arrested after a video was posted online of him abusing a dog.

In a post made on the Greenville Police Department's Facebook page, they say they were called Saturday to Mallard Cove Apartments to look into an allegation of animal cruelty.

They say they received information a video was posted on a social networking site of someone assaulting, punching and kicking a dog repeatedly.

Officers say they arrested 23 year old Steron Jihad Glover Saturday after executing a search warrant on the apartment.

They say Glover is charged with animal ill treatment and simple possession of marijuana.  The Greenville County Detention Center says Glover bonded out of jail Sunday.

Greenville Police say the dog was taken from the home by animal control.
