GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Authorities say a homeless man froze to death outside an abandoned grocery store in Greenville.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans said the 66-year-old man's body was found Sunday morning on a sidewalk.

Evans says the man died from hypothermia. The coroner's office has identified him, but isn't releasing his name because his family has not been contacted.

The National Weather Service says the temperature in Greenville dipped down to 30 degrees early Sunday morning with gusty winds.
