Spartanburg District 2 reports the woman was crossing Old Furnace Road to take a pair of glasses to her daughter when she was struck by a vehicle.

It happened after just before 9:30 a.m.

The district spokesperson had no information on what caused the accident.

Principal Chuck Gordon and the BSHS nurse assisted the victim until EMS arrived at the scene.

The district says the woman was alert when she was transported to the hospital.
