Six people were arrested and charged after Laurens County Sheriff's deputies discovered a meth lab in an outbuilding on Monday.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies arrested William David DeWitt, 24, and Leatrice Ashley Ouzts, 19, at their home on Gastley Drive in Clinton, after responding to a report of a meth lab. Also arrested in the bust were Houston Kyle Motes, 21; Tonia Relaine Craine, 36; Charles Ray Griffin, 45 and Billy Ray Smith, 31, all of Clinton.

They were each charged manufacturing meth, unlawful disposal of meth waste, possession with the intent to distribute meth and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Griffen and Motes were each charged with possession of a pistol by a felon.

They were transported to the Johnson Detention Center where they are awaiting a bond hearing.
