A collision between a train and 18-wheeler has left the entrance to an Easley strip mall closed for a couple of hours.

The collision happened around 7:30 p.m. off of Highway 123 near the Walmart in Easley. Easley Fire Chief Butch Womack said that a 18-wheeler made contact with a car at the railroad crossing near the entrance to the strip mall. When the driver of the truck got out, a train came along and struck the back end of the 18-wheeler, knocking it off the tracks.

Womack said that no injuries were reported. However, debris from the accident was scattered along the roadway keeping people from entering the strip mall from the area surrounding the wreck. It was expected to be cleaned up before 11 pm.
