SIMPSONVILLE, SC - A wreck in Simpsonville has killed two people and injured another.

The wreck happened on Hunters Woods Drive, just off of Fairview Road Tuesday evening around 10:30 p.m. Greenville County officials say a Chevy Trailblazer hit a mailbox on the right side of the road, over-corrected, and ran off the left side of the roadway. It then knocked down several trees, before overturning, and hitting a home.

The County Coroner's Office says 42-year-old Richard Benjamin Belew of Fountain Inn was ejected from the car and died at the scene. A second passenger, 21-year-old Shannon Leigh Hitt of Laurens, was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she later died due to blunt force trauma of the head and chest.

7 On Your Side is still working to learn the condition of a third passenger in the vehicle.

We'll bring you more information as it becomes available.
