The Laurens County Coroner reports Hope Alexandria Fair, 12, from Gray Court was pronounced dead at 7:32 p.m. Sunday. She died from a gunshot wound to the head according to the coroner.

The Laurens County Sheriff's office says the shooting is being ruled accidental.

Deputies say a 15-year old boy has been arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death. He was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice where he will await a court appearance in Family Court.
