Man Shot, Killed During Home Invasion In Seneca, 2 Charged

SENECA, S.C. - Two people have been charged in Oconee County after a man was found dead following a home invasion at a home in Seneca Thursday morning.

James William Toward, 18, and Donte Robert Bacon, 16, face multiple charges including murder. Toward is being held under no bond after appearing before a judge Friday morning. 

Oconee County deputies received a call shortly before 8 a.m. from a home on Ames Street in the Utica Hill Mill community.  A woman told them two masked men came into her home where they shot and killed her boyfriend.

The victim was later identified as Scott Andrew Johnston, 32, of Pullman, Washington.  He appears to have died of a multiple gunshot injuries according to the coroner's office.  An autopsy is set for Friday.

Deputies say the woman was also shot in the foot. She was taken to the Oconee Medical Center.
