Mom refuses to take custody of child after reporting her missing, report says

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) - A Connecticut mom was arrested Thursday morning after police said she refused to take her child home after reporting her missing.

According to a Myrtle Beach police report, Jacqueline Josey, 31, was called to the police department by officers around 12:30 a.m. after finding her 16-year-old daughter near the 600 block of 4th Avenue North. 

Police said Josey had earlier reported the child missing.

When Josey arrived at the police department, she refused to take custody of the child and attempted to leave, the report said.

Josey was arrested at the scene and later charged with cruelty to children.
