Storms Move Through, Sunshine Expected Sunday

Storm Team 7 Forecast Storm Team 7 Forecast
After a rainy and stormy Saturday, Sunday is looking much sunnier with mild afternoon temperatures.

A cold front will cause breezy conditions overnight, and a wind advisory is in effect until 9 am for the northern mountains including Yancey, Mitchell, Avery counties as well as the McDowell mountains.

Watch out for wind gusts to 45 mph in these areas. Isolated power outages here will be possible.

The weather will be cooler and drier going into Monday, but another system will increase cloud cover by afternoon, and a few rain showers may return Monday night.

A dip in the jet stream will usher in another round of bitterly cold air by midweek, putting nighttime temps in the lower 20s for the Upstate, some teens in the mountains.
