A local radio station is off the air after its tower was knocked down. It happened at WSPG, ESPN Spartanburg.

Matt Smith of ESPN Spartanburg says a nearby homeowner hired a crew to cut down some trees. One of the trees that was knocked down hit a guide wire that was connected to the tower. When the tree went down, so did the tower.

"Of all the things that have happened to us here at the radio station," said Smith, "this is one I didn't expect."

Smith says he's not sure when the station will be back on the air - but it could be several days.
