Grammy-winning musician and producer will.i.am has joined the creative team at Rock Hill's 3D Systems. The Herald of Rock Hill reports that the Black Eyed Peas frontman's official title is chief creative officer at 3D Systems Corporation.

3D Systems makes three-dimensional printers, along with parts and software for them. Company president Avi Reichental says he has been in talks with will.i.am for about a year and hopes the entrepreneur can help expand the company's efforts in the areas of fashion, music, sports and education.

Will.i.am also serves as computer chip-maker Intel Corp.'s "director of creative innovation." He has partnered with Coca-Cola Co. to create a new brand of products from recycled bottles and cans, including headphones and clothes.
