Hilton Head mom charged after son takes heroin needles to church preschool, deputies say

HILTON HEAD, SC -

A Hilton Head mother of 3 was charged after authorities say her son showed up at a church preschool with needles containing heroin, Beaufort County Deputies say.

 Jenna Marie George, age 33, of was arrested on Monday and was still in jail on Thursday night, according to information WBTW-TV obtained from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office.

 George was charged with child neglect after a worker at Christ Lutheran Preschool was brought 2 needles with a liquid that later tested positive for heroin, the Island Packet reported.

 The needles were in the child's backpack, which George had packed, her husband said in a sheriff's report that the newspaper obtained.

WTOC-TV reported that the 4-year-old boy took the needles to his teacher during naptime after he found them in the bag.

Deputies searched the parent's house at Port Royal Plantation. They said several more needles were found, including one under the other child's bed.

 The children, a 6 year old, 4 year old and 8 month old are now living with their grandmother.
