Oconee County Emergency Services says they found a Clemson student who was lost in a remote area of Sid Falls.

Oconee County Fire Chief Charles King says the 911 Center got the call around 5:15 pm Saturday from a man who was lost in a remote area.

Dispatchers were able to use "Phase 2" cell phone location technology to get a location and help first responders.

King says Fire and Rescue personnel were dispatched to the Sid Falls area of Longcreek to search for the 21 year old Clemson student.

The search team and medical teams began to hike the three mile trail to find him.

Almost 40 emergency personnel responded and after almost two hours of searching, they found him in the woods.

King says the student was cold and wet, but not injured.

He was taken to the Long Creek Fire Station to be evaluated.

King says the Clemson student was visiting the area for the first time.
