LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. -

A body was found Sunday afternoon near where Dorothy Madden, a Laurens County woman, went missing in July 2013, according to Lt. Judy Stiles of the Laurens County Sheriff's Office.

Lt. Stiles tells 7 On Your Side, the body was discovered off of Stallion Drive, near Pony Trail, near the area where Madden was last seen.

Deputies say someone found Madden's purse Saturday in a wooded area. The Sheriff's Office started a search in that area around Noon Sunday, and a search team and cadaver dogs located a body around 2:00 p.m.

Lt. Stiles says they will wait for the pathology report to confirm that the body is Madden's. She says the death is not considered suspicious.
