GOOSE CREEK, S.C. -

Students and staff at a Charleston area high school should get results back this week on tuberculosis tests they were given after a former student was diagnosed with the disease.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control tested about 170 people at Stratford High School for the lung disease last week. DHEC plans to test more people at the Goose Creek school this week.

Berkeley County Schools Superintendent Rodney Thompson says no other cases have been reported so far and there is no reason to think this will turn into an outbreak.

Two adults and 10 children tested positive for tuberculosis last year at a Greenwood County school. The lung disease is highly contagious, but can be treated with antibiotics
