UNION COUNTY, S.C. - More than a dozen fire departments and a 100 firefighters are resting Monday night following a large brush fire in Union County.

After much speculation from authorities on the scene, South Carolina Forestry Commission's spokesman, Scott Hawkins, said in a statement earlier that the blaze was "contained at 70 acres".

Crews created lines around the flames near the 300 block of Bentley Town Road late Monday afternoon, fighting to contain the multiple acre blaze well into the evening hours according to officials.

There were no evacuations or injuries reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is still under investigation. You can expect 7 On Your Side to provide you with the latest details as soon as they become available.
