Man Shot After Pointing Gun At Deputies In Greer, Officials Say

Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy involved shooting in Greer. Greenville County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deputy involved shooting in Greer.
GREER, S.C. - Greenville County deputies say a man was shot after they say he pointed a weapon at a deputy.

Jerry Christopher Reynolds will be charged with attempted murder and other charges after the shooting Saturday night at a home on Scruggs Circle in Greer.

We're told the deputy responded to a domestic disturbance. When he entered the home, GCSO investigators say Reynolds, 40, pointed a firearm at the deputy.  

That's when we're told the deputy pulled his gun and shot Reynolds once.

Deputies tell us the man was taken to a hospital. we're told Reynolds was in stable condition Monday morning.

No word on the man's identity or the extent of his injuries.

The deputy involved has been placed on administrative duty until the he is cleared. SLED is also investigating - both are standard procedures in these situations.
