DMX, George Zimmerman To Fight In Charity Boxing Match

Posted: Updated:
Rapper DMX will go toe-to-toe with George Zimmerman in a charity boxing match in the coming weeks.

The duo will face off for three rounds.  The timing and location are not clear at this point, but all of the details should be revealed at a news conference in Philadelphia next week.

The fight promoter is telling CNN he got 15,000 emails asking for a chance to enter the ring with the former neighborhood watch captain.

Zimmerman said the celebrity boxing match was his idea.

DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is from the Upstate.  He reportedly told TMZ he wants to fight Zimmerman for every black person who has been done wrong in the system.

Zimmerman shot and killed unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in February of 2012.  He stood trial for murder, but was found not guilty.
