Pedestrian Hit, Killed In Pickens County

A pedestrian was struck and killed as he walked along a road in Pickens County. A pedestrian was struck and killed as he walked along a road in Pickens County.
EASLEY, S.C. - The South Carolina Highway Patrol, along with Pickens County authorities are investigating a deadly wreck involving a pedestrian Friday night.

The accident happened on Saluda Dam Road, near North Fish Trap Road, just outside the city of Easley at 6:45 pm.

According to Lance Cpl. David Jones, a 59-year-old woman from Easley was driving west on Saluda Dam Road when she struck the unidentified 67-year-old man as he attempted to cross the road. 7 On Your Side has learned that the unidentified victim was walking with a small child along Saluda Dam Road when he was struck by the car. The victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The child was not injured.
