Missing Greenwood Co. Man Found Dead In Crashed Truck

GREENWOOD COUNTY, S.C. - Officials say a Greenwood County man who was reported missing has been found dead inside his truck in Saluda County.

Darron Edward Harmon, 29, was last seen by his family on Sunday morning. Police reports state his mother contacted officials about his disappearance the following day.

She says Harmon went to Columbia on February 9 to stay with a friend, but was scheduled to return home the next day.

Investigators say they found Harmon Friday afternoon pinned inside his vehicle which was in a creek on Halfway Swamp Road near the Greenwood County line.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol tells us the truck ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree early February 10.  The vehicle overturned into the creek and was not found until Friday.

An autopsy is set for Saturday.
