Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. - A suspect is on the run after a short chase in Greenville County Monday afternoon.

The chase started just after 4 p.m. when a state trooper attempted to pull over the driver of a pickup truck for a seatbelt violation. The driver of the truck did not stop and led the deputy on a brief chase that ended when he jumped out of the truck on Odom Circle and took off running. The truck then rolled forward and struck the front of New World Outreach Church.

State Troopers, along with the help of Greenville County Sheriff's deputies and K9 deputies, searched the area, including a portion of the Swamp Rabbit Trail, for almost an hour but were unable to find the driver. Two passengers in the truck taken into custody, but were not arrested or charged.

The identity of the suspect was not known.
