LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. -
A motorcycle rider was killed Tuesday morning in an accident with a school bus in Laurens County.
The 50-year-old woman on the bike collided with the Laurens District 55 special education bus which was turning left onto New Prospect Church Road at 6:45 a.m. on Highway 221 South.

The coroner's office has identified the victim as Marsha Kay Gillespie of Laurens.  She was the only person on the motorcycle as she was going to work.  Investigators say she was not wearing a helmet.
The Laurens District 55 superintendent reports four children and the driver were on the bus at the time and were not injured. They were taken to class on a second bus which came to the scene.

Our crews at the scene said the motorcycle was underneath the bus.
