Victim Identified In Fatal Shooting on Pelham Road in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. - Greenville County deputies are investigating an early morning shooting on Pelham Road that left a man dead.

The Coroner's Office says 29-year-old Rodney Jermaine Nesbitt, of Moore, South Carolina, died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Deputies were called to a scene outside of Crocs Nightclub on Pelham Road just after 3:30, Saturday morning. When deputies arrived they located a vehicle suspected to be involved in the shooting. Inside the vehicle, deputies found two victims of Saturday morning's shooting.

Although the area of Pelham Road is back open, investigations into the incident are ongoing. The Greenville County Sheriff's Office is encouraging anyone with information to please give them a call.

7 On Your Side spoke with Nesbitt's family Saturday. They told us they were extremely upset with the loss of Rodney. 

Rodney's mother tells us her son served  in Iraq and was very close to her. She said they talked all the time and he was her best friend. 

Austin Poole said he was proud of Rodney for serving in Iraq from 2009-2013. Saturday was Nesbitt's birthday and dozens of friends and family were at their home in Moore. 

Poole said he couldn't believe Nesbitt and his family had survived his tour in Iraq but and he was killed here at home.
