COLUMBIA, S.C. -

School districts across the state are asking for forgiveness for days missed because of snow and ice storms, including Pickens County.

State law says there must be 180 school days per year. Districts must get approval if they can’t meet that requirement.

On Tuesday the House passed a bill that will waive the days missed of school due to extreme weather and those days will not have to be made up.

Wednesday lawmakers will take a routine final vote and then the bill will go to the Senate.
