EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA -

An elementary school principal, the VP of an ambulance service and more than a dozen other men were charged over the weekend in a massive child molestation sting, officials say.

John Harold McGill, age 56, has been charged with traveling with the intent to meet a child for sex.

McGill has been a principal for 14 years and has already been replaced at Mt. Carmel Elementary School, just south of Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Constitution.

J. B. Owen Jr., 58, of Canton, who is the VP for an ambulance service and Chenya Li, a 22-year-old software developer from Atlanta, were also charged in the four-day operation.

In Effingham County, which borders South Carolina, two men were charged -- both while on the way to meet a girl, the Effingham County Sheriff said.

Monday 63 year-old Douglas Shontz of Pooler met with Sheriff's Deputies while actually attempting to meet and underage girl, officials said.

They also say 24 year-old Kevin Horton met with deputies while trying to meet a minor girl for sex, Effingham County authorities say.

Horton also faces charges of sexual exploitation and furnishing obscene materials to a minor.

The Sheriff's office says Shontz has been released on $11,000 bond and Horton was granted a $21,000 bond by a magistrate court judge.

Here are others that were charged in Operation Broken Heart:

Kahsi Ahmed Butler, 31, of Conyers

Benjamin Eugene Hopson, 21, of Lithonia
