NC Climber Dies From 70 Ft. Fall On Crowder's Mountain

A man died after a fall while rock climbing Crowder's Mountain near Gastonia Monday evening.

Gastonia Fire Department rescuers were notified a man fell around 6:25 p.m. Members of the rescue team had to lower themselves to the climber's location after he fell about 70 feet.

The climber suffered serious injuries according to Gaston Emergency Medical Services.

Crews lowered the injured man to the ground with rescue ropes, but he died from his injuries.

The victim's name hasn't been released.
