Belton Police say they're investigating an accident that left a woman hurt after they say she was hit by a vehicle Thursday night.

Belton's Chief of Police Tommy Clamp, Jr. tells 7 On Your Side a woman was hit by a vehicle as she was walking on Breazeale Street around 8:40 Thursday night.

Clamp says the woman was taken by Belton EMS to AnMed Health.

No word on her condition nor was there a description of the vehicle that hit the woman.

Our coverage partners at the Anderson Independent Mail report Clamp says the woman was wearing dark clothes and may have been difficult to see from the street, but Clamp says his officers have not reached any conclusions about what happened.
