Arrest made in New Bern bank robbery

NEW BERN, N.C. - New Bern police have arrested a man accused of robbing a bank on March 31.

It happened around 1:30 at the First Citizens Bank at 305 Broad Street. Police say 28-year-old Clarence Daniel Martin IV entered the bank and demanded money from a bank teller. The bank teller responded by passing Martin an undisclosed amount of cash.

He's charged with 1 Count of Common Law Robbery for the incident. Officers say tips from the public led to his arrest.

Martin was placed in the Craven County Jail under a $40,000 secured bond.
