LUDOWICI, GA -

A Fort Stewart soldier went to "extreme" lengths to teach his teenage daughter a lesson on Monday.

The man, who did not want to be identified, was fed up with his daughter's messy room so he moved everything out of her bedroom and put it in the family's driveway while she was at school Monday.

Accompanying her belongings was a sign that read, "Haley, room moved to driveway. Clean it next time."

The home is located on Mustang Lane in the Horse Creek subdivision of Ludowici, which is near Savannah.

The father told us that his daughter was initially upset and said that the move was "extreme."

But it worked out for both in the end.

The father says they have hired a painter to come in tomorrow and give Haley's bedroom a fresh coat of paint in hopes that she will keep it cleaner from now on.

Dozens of drivers have filed complaints with the South Carolina Department of Transportation over loose gravel along a stretch of I-85. Officials said the complaints, which topped out at between 6 and 8 per day last week, stem from gravel that's damaged vehicles between Highway 14 and 129, where crews are working on a two-year-long resurfacing project.
