Arrest Made For Two Armed Robberies In Pendleton

Anderson County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man for two of three recent armed robberies in Pendleton.

Willie Mays Wideman, 56, is charged with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office tells the paper Wideman was arrested around 11:00 p.m. Wednesday. He is from Pendleton.

Wideman is charged in a robbery at the Dollar General store on South Mechanic Street on Tuesday night and in a robbery at a Bojangles' on U.S. 76 Sunday night.

At this time, investigators don't believe Wideman was involved in the robbery at the Plez-U in Pendleton Sunday night. 

Wideman is being held Thursday morning at the Anderson County Sheriff's Office for arraignment.
