GREENVILLE, S.C. -

Cabela's, a massive store for hunters and fishermen, opened its doors to customers in Greenville Thursday morning.

The ribbon to the store at 1025 Woodruff Road was cut by a man using a bow and arrow when the grand opening was held at 11 a.m.

This Cabela's location is the first store in South Carolina.

"It's exciting to be here for us, but I think it's exciting for Greenville and the economic growth and development as well," said Cabela's General Manager Jack Patty, "because I think that the reciprocating value will be great and the travel far and wide to the folks traveling here to just shop Cabela's, but they'll be doing other things in the great community."

The closest location for the store that sells hunting, camping and fishing gear is Augusta, Georgia.

Cabela's is also expected to have another impact on the Upstate: traffic. The store conducted its own research study and found more than 700 cars will turn into its parking lot during peak hours on weekends. Cabela's has paid to have a traffic light installed on Woodruff Road in that busy area.

The store plans to fund for another turn lane into the shopping area.
