BOILING SPRINGS, S.C. -

Spartanburg County deputies arrested a man after an altercation at a home in Boiling Springs Friday evening.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Quail Ridge Circle. According to a report obtained from the sheriff's office, a deputy responded to the home after receiving a report of a disturbance. When he arrived, a woman told him that 47-year-old Jeffrey Lewis Bishop, of Boiling Springs, had been drinking all day and had become "loud" and "disorderly."

The deputy stated in the report that he started to question Bishop about his conduct and he started to swear at him. Bishop was then placed under arrest for breach of peace and ordered to comply with the deputy's orders. However, the report states that Bishop would not cooperate with the instructions and the deputy had to be put on the ground and handcuffed.

The deputy stated that he took Bishop to his car but he refused to get in. Bishop then started to kick and "thrash" his head while he was being seated in the crusier while his legs and feet were outside the vehicle, He then kicked the passenger side window causing it to separate from the frame of the door. Bishop, who had a black eye from a previous matter, then struck his head against the screen of the police cruiser as he was being transported to the Spartanburg County Detention Center causing a cut to his forehead.

He was further charged with resisting arrest and malicious injury to personal property.
