BEULAVILLE, N.C. - A suspicious package shut down a city block in Beulaville late Monday afternoon.

According to Police, a male suspect walked into the BB&T branch on Main St. and dropped a soft sided cooler bag by the front door. He went inside and deposited money into an account tellers were not familiar with. Bank staff became suspicious and called the police.

Police proceeded to evacuate the bank and the surrounding city block. The bomb squad and fire department were called in as well. The bomb squad was able to x-ray the cooler bag and discovered that there were no explosives inside. The bag was taken into evidence and the "all clear" was given.

The male suspect is still at large.
